Abdul Samad

I’m an Applied Data Science student at Penn State University with a strong interest in using data, analytics, and AI to solve real problems across business, research, and nonprofit work.

Through coursework and research, I’ve worked on projects involving large social media datasets, where I analyze communication patterns using Python, SQL, natural language processing, sentiment analysis, and time-series methods. Much of my work focuses on data cleaning, exploratory analysis, and visualization—making complex data easier to understand and useful for decision-making.

Alongside my technical work, I’ve taken on several leadership roles. I currently serve as the National Vice President of Helping Heart, a medical-focused nonprofit, where I support operations and help track impact across multiple initiatives. I’m also the Treasurer of the Nittany AI Student Society, managing budgets and helping organize events centered on AI education and student engagement. Across these roles, I’ve consistently balanced leadership responsibilities with analytical and technical work.
