Ayaz Hyder is a Research Associate at The Family and Youth Institute. He holds a PhD in Biology from McGill University and completed his Postdoctoral training in Environmental Epidemiology at Yale University. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the College of Public Health and Affiliated Faculty in Translational Data Analytics at The Ohio State University. His past experience also includes research at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences, serving as a Research Associate at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at The University of Toronto.
Dr. Hyder’s research focuses on understanding the role of multiple determinants of human health (social, economic, demographic, environment) operating at multiple levels of organization (individual, neighborhood, regional). Dr. Hyder uses mathematical and computational approaches (e.g. predictive analytics and systems science methods) to bring together theory, data, and methods from multiple disciplines.
