Do you do everything for your kids? It may be time to stop. Here are 7 reasons kids need responsibilities (with examples by age).

If it weren’t for my husband, my three-year-old would still need me to remove his pajamas and put on his shoes. Thankfully, my other half has expected much more from my son. He gave responsibilities to establish independence and out of necessity. (Three kids do that to you.)

Turns out my child can do most of what we ask him to do. Watching him apply toothpaste and brush his teeth is ten times slower than if I had just stepped in. But giving him more responsibilities has been instrumental in his growth.
